I’m Joao Lopes Albuquerque, founder of D’Melo Design & Build Ltd.

I established the company with a clear objective to deliver high-end residential projects with a level of precision, control, and professionalism that is often missing within the construction industry.

My role is to maintain complete oversight across every project we undertake. From early-stage planning and financial structuring to commercial decisions and on-site execution, I ensure that every detail is considered, coordinated, and delivered to the highest standard. Nothing is left to assumption, and nothing is left unmanaged.

My career began at KPMG, where I trained within a Big Four environment, developing a strong foundation in financial discipline, risk management, and analytical thinking. I later built on this experience within restructuring and insolvency, working closely with businesses in complex and high-pressure situations an environment that demands clarity, decisiveness, and control.

I then transitioned into a senior leadership role within the construction sector, where I was responsible for financial performance, commercial strategy, and operational delivery across multiple high-value projects. Acting as a key decision-maker within the business, I oversaw budgeting, contract negotiation, and full project execution ensuring projects were delivered efficiently, profitably, and without compromise.
